UserFields 0.2.3

This extension allows the administrator to add custom fields to each user's profile.

Privileges can be set for each field, so that a role can read or edit the field. A special role 'self' determines whether a user can read or edit their own tag. This provides much flexibility in determining who can see and/or update what.

User fields can be grouped together, and these are displayed as tabs in the user profile, using the 'tabber' JavaScript script.

Each field is one of a pre-defined type: lists, checkboxes, text fields etc. Each type is handled by a class, so can be extended.

This is an alpha release - it is functional, but lacks some field types, lacks admin forms for the field type options (you just get one big text field for now - use lines with "option=value" pairs, such as "mandatory=true" and "hint=enter a number") and much of the text needs to go into translatable strings. However, what is there, is functional and hopefully you can work out how to use it from the comments.

Note August 2009: now the untested code warning is up on the plugins, I just thought it worth mentioning that this plugin does not make any changes to existing tables. It creates three new tables of its own, but that is the only change it makes. To me, changing core tables is a big no-no.

Licence is GPL.
