Friendly URL's Add-On Missing Files?

When I download and unzip the Friendly URL's Add-On the only included file is the readme. I've tried downloading it several times with the same result each time. Is it me?

the .htaccess file has a period in front of it, which makes it invisible on some operating systems. There are ways to make it visiible, but I'd say the easiest might be to upload the entire folder up to your server. Others with more insight might be able to help you better...
  • Oh, weird. Might want to include that in your readme file :) Thanks you.

Good idea. Did uploading the entire directory work?

Nope, I can't get it to work. I did manage to get the file on my server, but nothing is happening. It's located at joshuajenkins.com/create/.htaccess : create being the vanilla install folder. Maybe I did something wrong? Kinda going through it again to check. I assume I'd be getting errors if I didn't have mod_rewrite enabled, my forums are just exactly the same as they were before hand.

You won't necessarily get errors if mod_rewrite isn't enabled. it's a finicky module - I've had it throw fatal apache errors and I've also had it happily ignore the .htaccess as well. It definitely sounds like you either haven't got mod_rewrite on or it's not configured properly.
  • Yeah, the files there and the config file is happily edited and nothing is happening. Probably just don't have mod_rewrite which is a big ol' shame. Oh well, thanks anyway :)
