was working just fine, then I got '35' and my forum is gone...

I have been running a vanilla forum (latest release) with no troubles for a few weeks and then today, while Myself and some of my members were logged in the forum seemed to crash. When I clicked on "Start your disscussion" the page reloaded and I got the number 35 in the top left corner. The server is still operating fine as I can get to other parts/pages. Site URL is http://2802art.freehostia.com/ Any Ideas...?

  • Seems like your index.php has been overwritten. If you browse to e.g. /comments.php the forum is still there. Try reuploading just the index.php file.
  • I just tried reuploading the index.php just a minute ago and know difference...still 35, but I'm very happy that the discussion is still there.. Thanks Any other advice on how to fix the prob..? Jules
  • Oddly, if you search on comments, you get the same number.

No idea what comments search and index have in common to cause this strange symptom.
  • Try going to http://2802art.freehostia.com/people.php logging in, then http://2802art.freehostia.com/settings.php and disable your extensions. I can imagine one of them might be doing something weird to the forum.

Oh, you're not using a non-default theme by any chance (note: theme, not style)?
  • Just tried that and still no go... And no i'm not using any themes..just default vanilla, I have Poll 1.3 , Vote 1.0 and HTML formatter 2.0.5 ,I just turned them off and no luck..

Open up your index.php file and try echoing something at various stages in the file so you can see where it is failing (or if it is reaching it at all).
