  I onstalled the German language pack as described in the ReadMe, but when got to the Language Manager it doesn't show German in the drop-down ad therefore I can't choose this option. What did I wrong?

  I've corrected the readme. There isn't a "Language Manager", in the Settings it is under "Languages".
  
  Carolyn, have you copied it rightly? The path to your definitions.php should be: /languages/Deutsch/definitions.php and not like this: /languages/Deutsch/Deutsch/definitions.php
