Why doesn't a discussion appear on the discussions page?

Hi! I used to be an active participant here a few years ago, and I've come back to try to get some help. Everything has changed of course, which is progress, but I feel pretty much like I'm starting all over, with some pretty dumb questions. Here's my first ....

I posted in a discussion (http://vanillaforums.org/discussion/comment/142519#Comment_142519), and I expected it to appear on the discussions page, but it didn't. is there a reason for that that isn't obvious to me? Thanks.
