The dreaded "Something Has Gone Wrong" message

Installed Vanilla 2.1 following the instructions on the official Vanilla site, and am getting the dreaded "Something Has Gone Wrong" message right out of the gate just after install. ANy ideas on how to test what's wrong, etc?

  • Peregrine, I went to that first link and started to follow their advice....but I cannot find any /conf/config.php file anywhere. Closest thing to it is config-defaults.php...am I missing something here?

  • yes.

    During a normal installation process, it should give you a config.php after installtion completes.

    Since you are doing a new install. You might as well download 2.1.1 make sure you copy all files over from zip and re-install.

    a few people have had problems where the config.php is not created.

    if all else fails you might be able to create one manually. but I would re-install if it was me.

    whatever that means! people with same issue can plow through it too, if the know what plow threw it means as a solution.
