Dojo

How about bringing the ajax-functionality to some more browsers? Dojo is a javascript toolkit with lot's of functions, including the 'dojo.io' API. With this API you can make AJAX requests. The API uses iframes and forms for cross-browser functionality and incorporates back-and-forth functionality and bookmarking.

Dojo's package system and optional build tools help you develop quickly and optimize transparently. " Dojo isn't big if you don't want it too be big. You only have to include the packages you need. And what's wrong with iframes? In my experiments with dojo, it all worked very fast.

    I find Dojo a bit of a pig. Had several users complain about the speed issues until I removed it from a project. Sometimes the cool, feature-rich way just isn't better than the simple way.
