Editing comment in Sinking post bumps discussion up list

I just found this then. If ANYONE edits a comment in a sinking discussion, the discussion will behave like a normal one and float back to the top.

I have tested it on 2 installations, but can onyone else confirm this?

    damn. It could be a local thing, so if someone else could try it, and then I will rule out a global vanilla bug.

    ill try it on my local host now
    EDIT: Nope doesnt do it on my windows localhost

    On my install, a sunk discussion will move up one position in the discussion list the first time a comment is edited in that discussion. Subsequent edits to any comment in the discussion appear to have no effect.

    what exactly is the purpose of sinking ? i read some in the doc but didn't say its purpose

    Stops new posts to the discussion bumping it to the top of the list.

    Well, first thing that comes to mind: while i was developing my PanelOrder extension, I was discussing it in the thread named 'Sorting Panel?'. Now i've released it I've made a new thread called 'PanelOrder'. If i had the permissions, i might want to put users off posting any further questions in the 'Sorting Panel' thread by making it 'sink' - which would encourage users to post in the PanelOrder thread if that was more suitable.

    There are other situations where it can apply but hopefully that gives you an idea. It's just something one of the members here came up with while vanilla was being developed and Mark loved the idea so he implemented it.

    I'm getting this bug. I'm not comfortable with SVN. Is it possible to point the changes (files) made to solve it?
