Not anything like the built in bookmarks function, but an extension that supports bookmarks. I imagine it would be simple, with a page name and accompanying URL. I would really like this. At present, I don't have time to learn how to make extensions and I find they are too hard at the moment for me to get the hang of to 'fudge' my way through. I don't know what I can offer for the extension. Donations? Bounty? Some other service. I am not sure. If you think of anything, let me know. Thanks to anyone who can help.

  • So you're saying you want something that is like del.icio.us in Vanilla? Or something else?
  • Not that elaborate. Just a personal links page where users add a page, giving it a title and punching in the URl. I understand there is a del.icio.us extension already for Vanilla.
  • I imagine they would just be displayed like to-do items, with a little edit and delete button beside them.
  • Are you familiar with WordPress? If so, are you looking for something like the links table for storing and displaying links?
  • I'm not, but I am going to go ahead and say yes. Textpattern has a similar feature.
  • I guess it would be like the SidePanel extension, only create an admin page for adding items (links) to be displayed in the side panel.
  • I would like to see it more like the to-do extension (Jazzman? :P). Have its own page and a list of the links running down it. A similar sorting method maybe. They are to be personal links only. Not public ones.
  • *Adds it to the list of stuff to look at if noone gets there first but makes sure not to make any solid promises and end up disappointing people again :D

I've long thought a Scuttlish type of bookmarking feature for a forum would be terrific. Scuttle is released GNU/GPL meaning anyone interested in creating a bookmarking mod could simply modify it to integrate with Vanilla's user / login system.

edit: fixed the Scuttle link noted by WallPaper.
