trouble with vinillacons extension

I installed the Vanillacons extension on my forum and I can see the vanillacons before I post but when I post, it just shows up as the code not the smiley. Anyone know where I could have gone wrong? All I did was extract everything to the extension folder.

    Have you rebuild the icons once?

    I did rebuild hte icons but got an error while doing so, but I just found out it was another file permission problem. lol so it's solved now. ^.^
