Naming schemes

I need a good naming scheme for my computers. Currently, I'm using Lost character names (an idea which I ripped off from a small orange)

    For the pc's at work my server is called sun and the desktops are named after planets. For the ones at home I name them according to their job (geektop (my laptop), media (my media pc), dad (my dads pc))

    planets, star trek... I know a company that uses disney character names for their server :D

    o2 (uk phone company) seem to use names from hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.

    I use character names from the Arthurian legend. More specifically the movie Excalibur.

    I use places from Lovecraft novels

    Colours can work, if your boxes are at least slightly different in colour it works better. Or different family members (big brother, gramps, etc).

    At work ours seem to be named after Greek Gods.
    At home there's two computers so they're named "Mine" and "Parents".

    If I do build a network though I shall name them on world currencies.

    My old system was color puns. I think I had "Gordon Blue", "Green Devolution", and "Reagent Orange" before I decided it was stupid.

    Oh, you could go a step further and have common surnames which are also professions. Mr. Baker, Mr. Smith, Mr. Fisher, Mr. Miller, Mr. Mason, and so on.
