problem with installation, please help!

Ive setup a subdomain, (subdomain.domain.com) to host the forum, setup page loads fine, but after the check permissions page it comes up with this : Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/fhlinux182/f/forum.tidymag.com/user/htdocs/setup/installer.php:1) in /home/fhlinux182/f/forum.tidymag.com/user/htdocs/setup/installer.php on line 179 when i install it in a folder like this www.domain.com/forum it installs fine? is there something i am overlooking? permissions are all set up ok.

    "Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent" usually occurs when a redirect is triggered, but information is already displayed on the end-user's browser. Maybe you can install it using your normal domain setup, and change the conf/settings.php afterwards.
