Html not being recognized as Html

Sometimes my users will use the reply button courtesy of AJAX Reply and the end result is html code. When I manually edit the post and change it to Html mode, it fixes itself.

My question: Why isn't the Html box being checked automatically for my users? When I post, Html is always checked by default.

    I think the default is TEXT but if you set it the first time to HTML it remembers.

    Is this in FF only, or all browsers?

    ajax quote does change it to html automatically.

    sorry, i wasn't using Ajax after all. the only one that works is quotations 1.6 by joel. when i used ajax, the code like [cite] etc never got converted into html and just stayed like that. any ideas?

    open up ajaxquote.js
    change the very first line to
    var ajaxqoute_format = 'Html';
