Potential Style Idea.. need opinions

So I was working on a redesign for my brightfalls.com site and I came up with this (still alot of work to do but I really like the header and tabs): http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/4304/brightfallsfl6.png Thought it would be quite easy to turn this into a Vanilla skin, what do you guys think? Should I go for it and would you prefer a light theme or dark theme?

    Yeah it's neat :) I especially like the way the darker bar behind the tabs adds some depth. It should be pretty cool for a dark them, in my opinion.

    nice design in general... only make sure you make the menu brighter. maybe make the text in them white..

    Looks very Vista-y, but I like it. Why not have both a bright and a dark style? Looking forward to either/both!

    I like it, except the glass thing on the inner content boxes. That makes it just too much gradient :) But the banner, tabs and bottom page are very nice :)

    Jazzman: Yeah I agree, it doesn't fit right with the rest of the theme. At the start it did but as I started adding more detail it definitely stood out like a sore thumb. I'll work on some different ideas for the middle part. Stash: Yeah rollover, though I was only going to have the text change but I'll look into having the backgrounds change as well. Thanks for the link btw!

    I love the subtle warmth of the gradient in the center

    I too like it, but the right feels a little too blue to me now. aAny way of toning it down just a touch on the right "panels" so they don't look so blue?

    The tabs have a little too much reflection, they're a bit too hard to read. Maybe if you increased the opacity a bit more.
