Google Analytics says 'not installed'

I've installed the Google Analytics extension, added my analytics acct. number to the default file and uploaded to my server. When I log into Google Analytics, and click the 'check status' link, it says that it is not detected. Do I have to do anything else to the code in the default file for this to work?

    Does that Google Analytics account work on other (non vanilla) pages where you add it normally?

    i only have the forum... so no other non-vanilla pages at this point. I'll set one up later tonight and report back.
