Capturing photo from a WebCam

Is it possible to capture an image from a WebCam directly into a web page? and then post it to a PHP page to save the image on a remote server? This is becoming a challenge? Is it only possible thru .NET? or PHP can do something?

    Much easier with Flash. Eg http://www.dailymotion.com/ can record directly from your webcam to video. Then you could do whatever you wanted with your image/video... and it only needs a few lines of actionscript to get started: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/webcam_motion.html (You can do it in Flex too - http://newmovieclip.wordpress.com/2006/05/26/take-a-webcam-snapshot-in-flex-20-beta-3/)
