Disable Bug Reports

edited September 2008 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Is it possible for me to disable the bug reporting feature of Vanilla? I receive quite a bit of spam through it. Thanks.

  • I'm not aware of any bug reporting feature... but I do know the Contact Form extension can be a inroad to spam.
  • Here's an example of such an email (the [redacted] portions represent spam links): A bug report has been submitted for your Vanilla forum. The person who subumitted this report provided the following information: ==================== User Agent: Opera/9.0 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en) Your name: hananim_dc Your email address: hananim_xt@gospelcity.com Url where the bug occurred: [redacted] What were you doing when you encountered the bug?: [redacted] In as much detail as possible, describe the bug you encountered: [redacted] ==================== We at Lussumo rely heavily on our users for help and support with bugs in our products. Holy moly... 0.9.2.x.

    Two steps:
    Remove bugreport.php from the main folder
    Edit library/Common.Controls.php and remove this line: | <a href=\"bugreport.php\">".$this->Context->GetDefinition("ReportABug")."</a>
  • Thanks very much!
