Re: Vanilla 2021.009 no categories found
@R_J I appreciate your help and respect your knowledge. I understand this is over my head and my reason for reaching out to both you and the other user. He went out of his way to help me and so have you. Do not misunderstand that I do appreciate that. Secondly, let me try and be more descriptive about what has occurred and… -
Re: Vanilla 2021.009 no categories found
@R_J I just did a fresh install of 2021.012 and did a var_dump($permissions); on line 888 of /applications/dashboard/models/class.permissionmodel.php and the $permissions array key values are in string format. I did testing and demo users were able to log in and see the categories. So even though this fixes the issue we… -
Re: Vanilla 2021.009 no categories found
Okay, let's forget about it. There was something in your last comment that triggered me, maybe my comment could be misunderstood too and that's it. When I looked at your forum I noticed things that could be improved and I just want to mention them: I have enabled pretty urls because that is a requirement The forums… -
Re: Vanilla 2021.009 no categories found
Good to hear. Still, please test on a second install with a new db (takes 1-2 minutes in Softacolus assuming your hosting plan includes several sites). if that works, clone your live database and connect that to the 2nd install - if a fresh install works, then we know to look at other causes in your forum… -
Re: Vanilla 2021.009 no categories found
You can also double test by changing line 888 in the file /applications/dashboard/models/class.permissionmodel.php and add var_dump($permissions);exit; to it Example Original 887 $permissions = $sql->get()->resultArray(); 888 return $permissions; To This 887 $permissions = $sql->get()->resultArray(); 888… -

I log with my administrator account, i go to every profile (members, unconfirmed, invited, administrators) and i save… -
Re: Vanilla 2021.009 no categories found
I appreciate the workaround and the help but it seems like a bigger problem for me. I'm running the correct version of PHP and MySQL. I specifically upgraded my hosting account to accommodate the requirements. A blank db and clean install works as expected. It's only when I switch to my production db that the category and… -
Re: Vanilla 2021.009 no categories found
I just wanted to confirm, that this means that @MrCaspan 's PHP extensions fix, using the native driver mysqlnd, does fix this int/string type issue. The code responsible for DB connection in the Vanilla package /library/database/class.database.php file already correctly disables the PDO::ATTR_EMULATE_PREPARES option. This… -
Re: Vanilla 2021.009 no categories found
I've used a database backup and a file backup and used both to recreate your forum on my local machine with nginx and mysql. It works as expected for me with this setup. The category that should be hidden is hidden and everything else is visible. The next thing to look at is the server. There is only one thing which looks…
