Re: Feedback Issues Questions for Galleries Plugin
[Split Dammit, refer to Forum Etiquette pls] Hi all, I'm back. ...and still not working I'm afraid. I really am confused over this as I think I've followed all instructions completely. The plugin folder is called /plugins/Galleries/ as that's what unzipping the download gave, I haven't changed this. The site is top level… -
Re: Error 500, version 2.0.18.4
@Dub Personally, I would clone the current site into a new folder on your web server, clone the DB (plus make a back up) and do the upgrade on the clone. This allows your current site to stay live while you get to sort out any issues You would need to point conf/config.php in the cloned version to your cloned DB, and… -
Re: The Community and Vanilla - Please Read
What an excellent wall of text @Apreche. I hear you on both accounts. Just know that we listen here. Fighting spam is something we do take seriously, but you really do need an external service to keep it at bay which is another cost to forum admins. We use akismet and stop forum spam. We do try and stay on top of the world… -
This is what I did with my Vanilla Forum [Some Feedback + A little Showcase]
Few days back I setup my forum and went with Vanilla as it's pretty clean, lightweight and much more modern and easier to use than traditional forums like phpbb3 and smf. There were some great addons which made life very easy for me. Installing addons is also very convenient unlike PHPBB3 where all sorts of files are… -
Re: "Easy Wordpress Integration" LOL!
I don't think you'll find anyone here who would disagree with the *idea* that a plugin code review system would be amazing. The reality is that none of the people working on Vanilla right now have the time to do that. We already work every single day of the week, the evenings of those days, weekends, holidays... There are… -
Re: Featured Topics on home page
* if you don't get a step-by-step (or perhaps you could hire developer) otherwise ... the hard part is laid out for you, perhaps a bit of effort, sweat and tears, on your part will get you up to speed. * 1 install yaga application. see the read me, read discussions. * 2 insert the above code in a plugin - see discussions… -
My Vanilla Wishlist
I'd love to see future Vanilla releases include the following:* Better Announcement functionality. Currently, if an announcement is created in a category it will be automatically 'stuck' to the top of the All Discussions page. Instead, it would be preferable if Announcements were only stuck to the top of their specific… -
Re: Is vanillaforums development dead/dying?
@neptronix: Sure, I am always waving the flag. Even try to enrich the eco-system with projects like VanillaSkins or our dedicated Vanilla App for iOS and Android (both native)... but the Vanilla team didn’t ever take the OS community very serious, but gratefully accepted the help of some developers here on GitHub. To be… -
Re: Reload Page After Submit
I can confirm that either Popdown or "$Sender->Render('Blank', 'Utility', 'Dashboard');" work. At least the latter is used all over Vanilla... Still have to research how to use jsontarget to close the popup from within, because it is more direct. But, IMHO the most elegant solution would be to have a "pseudoclass" (same… -
What is this?
I know a non-descriptive title...well the description is on the plugin page. "Community replies by email" is the tagline So, I created a service which enables an owner of forum to provide email replies simply for their users, without having complicated set-ups or infrastructure requirements, such as mail receiving…
