Re: Forum stats not showing on the dashboard
That would be my recommendation to attempt, yes. Keep in mind that I have only tested this on one installation, my own, but it is quite clear from my testing that turning off IPv6 was the thing that fixed it for me but I never like to call something a definitive solution until it has been tested a bit more on different… -
Re: V4.01RC Help - Cannot receive any emails
Transactional email is a bit of a mess to set up. I've spent a non-trivial amount of time doing server admin and have a pretty much a perfect scores on most online tests, but some ISPs just block them anyway, because email is awful. Most of the email issues probably need to be sorted out on your server, not the Vanilla… -
Re: test add a post!
Okay, it's working now and I understood, that I have to start a comment/discussion with "/me" for it to work. But here's what I've experienced as strange behaviors in V2.1b2 * /me only works if it is the first word in the first line and no line breaks will be accepted afterwards, but I suspect that this is intended… -
Re: Open Social
I'm trying to think here. We did do some stuff with embed Vanilla into Blogger which I know is an open social container. Beyond that I haven't looked into open social that much. When I have it was usually in the context of trying to go through the docs quickly and they were to complex for that. With regards to making… -
Re: Can the people who frequently use this forum please respect all users when they comment?
I can do all that... but there should be a collaboration for plug-ins. Instead of one guy doing this his way and another his, Vanilla can point the direction it decides to accept and the plug-ins should conform to that technology. If Vanilla has a html - CSS page for everything, just fill in the field it would be cool. But… -
Re: Date format problem: year isn't displayed if first
You are absolutely correct - it won't work - I think there is a bug in the code for /library/core/form.php notice the concatenation is missing in the first switch statement so the loop will always drop the previous results. I haven't confirmed if it saves correctly but it does display the option boxes correctly. But this… -
Re: Code formatting settings?
There are definitely eclipse-isms to get used to... Once you do, you'll want to have its babies. Start here: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ Pick your flavor, you probably want the web developer one. But you can install all the goodies that separate the versions after the fact anyway, so you could start with classic if… -
Re: Redis Cache Layer
It seems that Redis can basically replace Memcached entirely in practice because it's more robust and actively developed, while having more functionality and still being able to do the same thing. Notable advantages it has over Memcached includes more advanced data type support, built-in clustering functionality (supported… -
Re: Ideas of the community to change plugin system to enable plugin fixes
^^ I like this idea! ^^ This seems quite doable. Although slight detail, I'd say the check happens when someone opens that plugin page after X time, not that after X time all plugins in the addon section are refreshed. Would also solve the problem of the "plugins mantained by the Vanilla staff" automatization. ^^ I… -
Re: Features requests!
i think a core feature should be extendible profile fields. Once v2 has an official release, there will need to be a process that determines what features are added into core, and what plugins come pre bundled with a fresh install allowing you to disable and enable. Im more so interested in the pre-bundled plugins. For…
