Best way to add to Validation?

Hi all I've been working on some extra validation for Vanilla. At the moment I've just hacked the validation class, along with some other bits to get things working. However, I'd like to ask what the best way to do it would be so that I can turn it into an extension which can be switched on and off. Any ideas?

    I don't actually know what you mean? And, because of this, I can't tell you the best course of action. If you elaborate a little (sorry. I really have no idea), it would be much appreciated.

    I think they're referring to web standards validation?

    I could be very wrong.

    If you're talking about user authentication (I think you are), there should be a way to do it out next month (I need to do this for a client, so the code will be available here as well).

    ah. that makes sense. I was thinking the web standards/ xhtml/ css stuff also, and I had no idea what other MAJOR ones there were to include.
