Clean URLs

I'm trying to get "clean" URLs for Vanilla 1. It's not really working out - I tried the plugin (http://vanillaforums.org/addon/30/friendly-urls)... I'm not really sure what to do.

    Are you running Apache? Do you have mod_rewrite enabled?

    I have similar question. I got friendly urls working but i would like to rewrite so it does not show discussion folder at all. Can't find part of the code that is responsible for url generation in vanilla1. Is it possible?
