Disable Comments on a Discussion

How would I go about disabling any comments being submitted on a single discussion? I would like my discussion to be an announcement, instead of a discussion.

    You could select a category where only admins could post.

    Or (should work in vanilla1, don't know for 2), you could create your post and then close the discussion. I'm not sure if that functionnality was standard or came from an addon.

    Yes, in Vanilla 1 you can "Close" the discussion.

    There is an addon for that. It's called category roles which allows you to set who has authority to post to a particular category. It require a change in theme but it is rather trivial but must be done.
