updating conf/settings.php does nothing?

dreamhost just moved me around a bit, and suddenly all the paths are messed up, I tried editing the conf/settings.php but vanilla is still trying to use the same old path, what gives?

    If you are using Vanilla 2, delete the cache/*_mappings.php files.

    Check that the files you have access to are the one being served. Add a file and try to access in your browser for example.

    I'm not using vanilla 2, and I'm not sure I understand what Dinoboff means

    I figured it out, there was some weirdness going on when using the built in text editor in flashfxp, fixed it by putty'ing in and using vi.

    Any idea why the file wasn't saved properly when using the built in editor in flashfxp? Some weird caching going on perhaps?
