i was wondering if the matching themes for wordpress used on vf.org would be released to the public

The WP portion is not, that I know of. The Vanilla theme used here is available though.

I honestly don't have time to clean up and release the wordpress theme. There's really not much going on besides some custom html in the head and custom css. You can easily see the html by viewing source, and you can grab the css the same way
