would it be possible to create an application for garden that is similar to the open source app gwibber?

thinking about all the requests to support facebook connect, myspace, xmpp etc etc this seems like a easy and more efficient way to go.
and a great idea would be to offer as a forums solution for the gwibber team vanilla, and work along side to incorporate vanilla into the gwibber application.
