.htaccess file

Hi
I am new with vanilla and while installing it in my website I found out that my host will not allow .htaccess file on my website. I think the forum can not run without it. How can I deal with this problem?

    The forum can run without it. You just have to make sure you set it that way in the dashboard.

    Vanilla should typically detect that absence of the htaccess (during install) and then revert to standard mode.
