I just tried it with a fresh download of NIGHTLY from http://www.vanillaforums.com/download/nightly and it worked. RC2 does not work, as explained in a recent comment on the addon page.

It will work fine with RC3 when that comes out.

  • Thanks @Tim! So far, it seems to work much better this time. I'll keep on testing...
  • Thanks for the verification Tim.

If I could admit my own bad; I didn't spot the second page of comments on the plugin page. Sry.

Apparently there are still some issues with this plugin, most notably with WP3. I'll have to work on the WP3 integration a little more. Damned Wordpress :p

  • Any way to get the proxy connect to work automatically? It is counter-intuitive for my users to have to try to connect or create Vanilla accounts after logging in to Wordpress.

Otherwise the work looks great so far!
  • Did anyone succeed in getting the latest version (as of July 12) to work with WP3.0? Tried with a fresh installation just pulled from github, but as soon as the plugin is enabled, I cannot find a way to log in to vanilla anymore (as described in detail at the add-on page). Experimented with different cookie-domain settings, anyway I guess leaving it blank should be the best option on my local xampp.
  • Have a meeting tonight with a client about forum integration with WP3. Unfortunately I may have to go with BuddyPress on this project, but I'm really hoping this plugin gets fixed soon so that I can use Vanilla. They aren't launching for many weeks so I'm torn as to what to tell them. Any update on the status?
  • Have we quit on the single sign on for wordpress?
  • @dan39 thanks, i never knew about BuddyPress, u'r comment helped me :)

@mpraetzel No. As you can see the field is split. It works for a lot of people, but not for others.

I am personally using ProxyConnect as my primary login method locally and it works fine. Just have some tweaking to do I guess.

  • Thanks for working on this @Tim.

I have V2 and WP3 and did all you suggested here, but still no shared session between two applications.

    1. What is most interesting, Vanilla is not redirecting me on WP login page?
    2. Because I was lot in "try and error" approach I saw sometimes "Authenticate URL" fild on a ProxyConnect settings page is deleted
    3. What you put for "Main Site URL" on settings page for plugin: "http://www.domain.com" or something like "domain.com"?

I hope I will find a solution. Even think the problem is in .httpaccess :)
