Vanilla's new framework

  • Mark, I was wondering how you're doing with the include stuff? You've said you detacched the Manager Classes, but is that the only thing you've done to bypass unnecessary includes? In the current Vanilla there is a check with "in_array( $self....)", which checks what page is loaded. How will you do this in the new release? Because, let's say you go for the single index.php which loads extensions based on querystrings, you only have one file :)

As I've already mentioned, I'm not going to a single file yet, so that's not really a concern at this point. It sounds like you're confusing extensions (And their inclusion in pages) with the inclusion of framework classes. They're two different ballgames.
  • Ok, sorry to bring this back up, but I've fixed the extension so you won't have to edit any files. Didn't think replacing the entire language class in the settings control file would be the most efficient method in the world, so it checks if a certain constant is defined and, if not, recreates the language file, a definition of that constant included.

SirNot - that's exactly what I was thinking. Nice !
  • SirNot: Thank you for your extension! I tested it out today and it works like a charm! Two thumbs up!
