Adding Post Summary on main page?

Is it possible to add like 300-400 words (summary) from post on main pages right below Discussion title? I ask this only for Vanilla 2.

But latest posts tell that it is somehow broken, I think you might contact author and ask him to fix it as V2 stable is coming.
