Black background for transparent PNG avatars

I observed it because my avatar has transparent background. Here is a patch to fix this issue:

I'd like to add a request about uploaded pictures, why do you convert PNG to JPG systematically ? I think keeping PNG format would be a best choice.
My request reason is just about look and feel, I'd like to keep my transparency for my personal thumbnail :-)

    This patch just uses a white background instead of a black background when the uploaded photo uses transparency (PNG for example). If the uploaded photo is opaque (JPEG for example), it doesn't change anything.
