    Since this thread will be read by parties interested in having a Japanese language forum for Vanilla, I would like to say that you may wish to have a close look at the interface translation before making your forum go live. I myself have found that the translation is pretty good, but the direct translation in some areas just looks odd to native Japanese.

    For example, the direct translation of "sign in" is not a good idea. It would be better to use the transliteration of "login" (ログイン) instead. In fact, I've changed all the "Sign in" Japanese text to "Log in" in my Japanese definitions.php file. You may wish to do so as well. "Log in" is by far more common that "Sign in" in Japanese. Just point your browser to Google.co.jp and you will see that they use "ログイン" too.
