IS vanillaforums free to use for personal forums?

I'm confused, there's a pricing thing, and then you can just download 'something' (haven't uploaded it yet to see what exactly it is, is it full of ads? or is this completely free/ad-less for non-businesses? Thanks, I like the ajax features.. what all is ajax-able for ordinary members?

    the business link, takes you to vanillaforums.com This is a service provided to paying consumers and includes additional support, hosting services, storage space.. things to that nature.

    The download now link is for the do it yourself, more technical inclined users.

    There are no fees associated with the free download, no ad's unless you want to add some for your own purposes
