Is is possible to have "Notify me when people comment a discussions i've commented on" ?

Hi Guys

Just wondering, is it possible to have an Email Notification preference that is similar to

"Notify me when people comment a discussions i've commented on" ?

this was when a user comments on a discussion - but not bookmarks it - they will still get email updates
- reason is that the 'star' / bookmark thing may not be apparent to all user

if this is not possible
- is there an option to auto bookmark a discussion if a users has added a comment
- this would have the same affect as the above preference

i believe nabble.com uses auto-bookmark type thing and it works pretty well
