Turn Democracy AJAX Poll into an extension?

I'm off work sick today, but need something to keep my brain busy for a bit, so I though I would try and adapt the Democracy Ajax Poll (for Wordpress) into a plugin! (http://blog.jalenack.com/archives/democracy/) But I'm a useless programmer so if anyone has any wants to help me out as I bumble along that would be great. It seems to validate as XHTML, and use CSS, so should be pretty tasty. Including the poll in a post shouldn't be too hard, but the control panel that let's you add/edit/delete polls needs to go somewhere as well....

  • PS. I've set up a quick demo of the poll at the bottom of http://www.tonguengroove.co.uk/index.php
  • would be a nice addition to the sidebar...
  • you think polls would be better in the sidebar? i guess this would be easier to do than letting you create a new discussion with a poll at the top of it.... hmmm
  • Why not add the page with this?

Seems like a snap to get done.
  • ah cool, that would be pretty easy.
  • Strange that so few has replied to this discussion. I would definitely like to see something like this as an extension in Vanilla.
  • they have been already... see http://lussumo.com/community/comments.php?DiscussionID=668&page=1#Item_0 i just thought it might be easier to use a ready-made solution instead of reinventin the wheel!
