Problems on some discussions. (Vanilla 2.0.9)

I've encounter an issue on discussion part, the 'new' discussion counter doesn't update. It happens on certain discussions only, if i reply on that discussion then only it will go off after viewing it again. Need help!!! thanks in advance

    This is a known issue and we're working on it. It isn't a simple fix because the problematic code is widespread and a bit complex.
