[FileUpload] Discussion files displayed in comment edit forms

For all versions of FileUpload that I have tried, including 1.4.0, files attached to the head of a discussion seem to be displayed in the comment edit forms for any comment.
1. Create a discussion and attach a file.
2. Create a comment.
3. Now edit the comment. The original uploaded file will appear in the comment edit form.
Nobody else has ever mentioned this, but I've had the same issue with the last few versions of Vanilla and this plugin. Is it just me, or can anyone else confirm that it does happen?
