Most recent post open on the main page. Possible?

edited December 2005 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Hi all, I recently had a database blowout with Wordpress, and by that I mean I completely destroyed my db for no good reason and I'm annoyed about it. Anyway, when my WP site went down I was left with a dead site at datter.com and since I had a copy of Vanilla installed in another dir for testing I just moved it up front and there it sits. Having played around with it, I'm very impressed and will be more impressed if there is a way to do the following; What I'm looking for is a way to have the most recent post open on the main page such that when you visit http://www.datter.com you can instantly read the most recent post there in front of you, and have the other posts listed normally by subject line underneath. Is that do-able at all? Somehow I doubt it, but if it's at all possible Vanilla will be something more than a forum, it will make a terrific blog. :) Any help or suggestions appreciated. datter

  • Thanks, I *just* found that... hope it arrives soon. :)
  • You could do it yourself with a bit of php coding and just querying the database. Whether it'd be easier to do that or make an extension i'm not sure, though.
  • If you have a way to show the first entry from an RSS feed on your front page, it would be pretty easy.
