How to display last 10 posts out of vanilla?

I want to display 10 last posts on my web page, is there any pattern how to do that? At least SQL query or something like that...

You could use the RSS feed of your forum and just take the first 10 on it.

How can i use this API from an external page? I want to display latest 10 post in my sites home page?

I tried this

But it returns a page not found error. I'm using vanilla 1.1.10

@krishnik The api is part of the new Vanilla 2. Vanilla 1 is no longer in development by the vanilla guys.
