Looking back at past posts, this seems to have been an issue with the separate tool for V1, but the import option on the Vanilla v2 dashboard has the same problem.
My phpbb (v2) database seemingly imports AOK in to the Dec 2010 build of Vanilla, except for the body of the posts!
Has anyone else experienced this with Vanilla V2?
Where in the payload is the phpbb import code?
Here's someone who fixed it manually back in 2007, but maybe the bug has carried through to the Vanilla distribution
