edited January 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
I'm thinking something geeky. Possibly an xbox360. What would you guys spend the cash on?

You're going to think I'm wierd, but I'm holding out for a Nintendo Revolution.

this and this (bargain!) - leaving a 100 or so spare.
  • I think you're wierd. Then again i have no idea whatsoever about the revolution.
I want the 360 for all it's wireless media stuff since i'm getting myself a projector and i'd like it as neat tidy and sexy as possible.
Just wondering though, does anyone have a psp? Does anyone know if they can output video? And if so what connection/quality/etc? Cause that could be a damn nice way of doing it...
  • "neat tidy and sexy as possible."

thats definitely not my opinion on the xbox. its big and ugly imo. revolution certainly looks awesome.

    Look at this thing!

    I've *gotta* try that.
  • I'd save it until I knew what I needed some money for :)
  • "neat tidy and sexy as possible." - i.e. all i need is 2 power cables and a video cable and i have an entire media setup. The xbox will connect wirelessly to my pc and to a controller and bearing in mind that the xbox, projector, and power socket would all be next to each other, thats about as neat and tidy as i can get it.

Personally though, i like the 360's design.

Mark - you really are wierd. Looks interesting though. Since i cant be bothered to go digging and it doesnt shout it at me, can anyone tell me whether the revolution will do all the media stuff the 360 does?

I don't know if it can do all of that, but it does come with "Nintendo Wi-Fi", so I imagine there must be some wacky networking features in it.

I'm thinking something like this with a combination of some DVB-T pci card would be quite cool. But an xbox360 kinda does all that and more.. =\
  • The revolution had better come with a numchuck fighting game...
  • I have a PSP - It's ok. But I'd get a Mac mini. Rawr!
  • I'm with Bergamot, if there's not nunchucks then there's best be Lightsaber action.
  • I just blew $340 on a brand new video card and power supply :P
  • Get a 486 and pump it up with useless hardware, yeeeehah
  • I'm also going to wait for Nintendo Revolution. It looks to me as if they're the only ones who don't care about what's good for marketing, and just make a console that's fun to play with. I jumped off the graphics bandwagon when I bought a PowerBook (well.. it's okey for a laptop). I just hope that the parental control features will make Nintendo let people make more violent games for it =P
  • Chimaria that's the most hillarious thing i've seen all week!

a 4 port usb hub and it's a tea warmer!

    sweet!
  • "It looks to me as if they're the only ones who don't care about what's good for marketing, and just make a console that's fun to play with" - how fun it is to play with doesnt bother me, really. I'd be getting a 360 as a media centre which let me play games on it, not the other way round.
