How to edit the sidebar? / Cookies

How do I edit the "Howdy" and hide the "Sign In/Sign Out / Register" buttons in the embd page? It seems by removing the "Panel" call from the template it prevents the signin/signout sso from working.

Also, where can I edit how long cookies are stored? My custom cms timesout much sooner than vanilla does, and I want to adjust vanilla to match.

    If you're using the EmbedFriendly theme you can edit views/default.master.tpl and remove {signinout_link}.

    I'm using a single sign on plugin, when I remove that it prevents the single sign on plugin from working. Where in the skeleton is the actual text?
