Embedded Vanilla won't allow sign in with ie.

I'd like to run a private community so have tried private community and force guest sign in addons. It appears that the problem is with the embedded version of vanilla and ie, as when I go full screen I'm able to sign in. I'm able to sign in on all other browser/platform combinations.
