Fix Permission settings
Okay, having to jump through this many hoops is ridiculous. First, when you first edit a category, you don't see the names of the roles at all, only an endless list of "Default Category Permissions." Second, when you go to edit the category and set custom permissions, the check boxes don't reflect the changes. So you have to go in again and save the permissions without changing anything (but still have the custom permissions selected) THEN go back in and set your desired permissions. It should work from the beginning!
