How can i integrate Vanilla without javascript?

Hey Guys, i want to integrate Vanilla without the js-embeded plugin. My Main Goal is to integrate Vanilla in the Wordpress Theme. After searching a bit, i found some solution for including the wp-blog-header.php into the Vanilla Theme, but all of these solution talk about the conf/database.php - this file doesn't exist.

I just want to have the header and footer from my wordpress theme above and under the Vanilla-forum. No funky js-stuff.

Is there a better way to handle the integration and of course the theme development?

Just use an iframe and edit the template - should be enough.

Ok, that is a very easy way, but are there more ways to do this? Iframes, JS - what about a "hardcoded solution"?

The above is a very old post, from 2006, this is not the way to do it! I recommend the Vanilla, that's what it was developed for, not sure why you don;t want to use a javascript?

However, you can easily theme your Vanilla site to look identical to you wp, you should take a look at the Ultimate Theme Guide > http://vanillaforums.org/page/the-ultimate-theme-guide-for-designers
