stackoverflow style anonymity prior to sign-up?
In order to lower the friction required to start posting on my forum (everyone hates having to register, right? ), I'd like to do what stackoverflow do, and allow anybody who's not logged in to post questions.
I know I can allow Guest to post, but this means that all users not logged in would be seen as one user. What stackoverflow does, is assigns guest1234567 etc to each non-logged in user, who keeps that username (presumably via a cookie) for all posts they create. If the user then registers, all of the posts they have created are own by the registered account.
Does anything like this exist for Vanilla, or are all guests seen as one?
