Deletin a user?

edited January 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Yes, how can I delete a user, without using the "clean up" extension? Thanks!

  • who can you? how can you :)

It's not possible to delete a user who's made a post as it would muck up the runnings of the thing. If you dont want them back then just scramble all their details.

if they havent posted, i think the only way is with the cleanup extension - thats what it was made for.
  • Yup thats right....
  • Well you *could* delete a user, his posts, his discussions, and other minor settings with one query.

Seems like a lot of work to do though.

It's not too much work. The reason I don't do that with Vanilla is because (as minisweeper said), it screws up historical discussion views. Example: XUser says something inflammatory and it spawns a whole storm of responses from the other members. Admin goes in and deletes XUser. Suddenly all of the responses appear out of context, as if they're in response to nothing.
  • In the end, blame me, I asked for this :)
  • Hehe, ok. Thanks for the quick responses. Mark, I understand.
