Vanilla 2 Export error

FTPd the vanilla2export file to my forum folder but when I try to run it I get this:-

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONST, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /homepages/34/d260127691/htdocs/forum/vanilla2export.php on line 55

Any ideas

Sounds like your server is running php 4. You should be able to change this in your web host's control panel.

If not, Vanilla itself won't run on php 4.

Thanks Todd,

You are right of course. Can I assume that the PHP scripts in my current Vanilla 1 install will run ok in PHP 5 if I upgrade. I don't want to mess up the current forum before I know what I'm doing with Vanilla 2.
