Member Approval

edited August 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
On the settings page, for "New member role," I put "Member" so that there is no need to approve members when they sign up. However, I'm told by members that they still go a message that they will need to be approved when they were signing up. How do I get rid of that message? Also, how can I change the "welcome" text on the sign-in page? I couldn't find anything about it in the settings. Thanks.

  • Wiki is your friend : http://lussumo.com/docs/doku.php?id=vanilla:administrators:privateforum as for the text on the welcome/sign-in page, you can edit that out in your working language file.
  • Thanks, the language page was all I had to change. I didn't even bother looking there because I thought all it was is a list of languages that the user can choose from. Thanks again.
  • Not a problem :)
  • it would be great if admins could add new members via the control panel, especially if they want to move users from an existing forum to Vanilla, think the only way is to manually apply each for membership
