Activity Filtering

edited February 2011 in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8
Hi,

The activity page seems to have a lot of unnecessary stuff in there, like users having permissions changed. Is there a way to filter the activity so that it only shows relevant info?

I concur and wish the admin would have the ability to manage what is visible to different roles.

there is a term called necro-posting. It refers to bringing up discussions that are a year or more old. It is frowned upon. Start a new discussion if you want, but posting the same thing multiple times under multiple discussions doesn't advance the cause, it lessens the cause.

I may not provide the completed solution you might desire, but I do try to provide honest suggestions to help you solve your issue.

Thanks Peregrine and apologies for breaking etiquette. I thought that starting afresh is not recommended for it will miss all those who may have bookmarked the old discussion. Trade-offs, trade-offs....

  • this discussion might help ...

a recent user mentioned something similar.

  • Different places have different cultures, but personally I think people starting new discussion after a thread is dead is better for everybody. To that extent that I would sometimes recommend expiring discussions an closing them.

The worst thing is super long discussions with many different focuses.

    grep is your friend.
